#WildCardWednesday: Chet Faker – ‘Gold’

Chet Faker

Today’s #WildCardWednesday is ‘Gold’ by Chet Faker.

Chet Faker is a pretty recent musician from Melbourne, Australia; he is said to be influenced by a number Jazz artists.

‘Gold’ comes from his recent 2014 album “Built on Glass”, which reached number 1 in a few country’s. ‘Gold’ is accompanied by many other well-produced tracks that incorporate this Jazz/Funk style with more modern-electronica sounds and beats.

“Built on Glass” is entirely self-written, performed and recorded by Faker himself. I feel this adds to his original style of sound, along with his imaginative music video for ‘Gold’. The tracks on this album are said to have an overlaying “warm, intimate feel with a solid groove structure”, I think this is appropriate for all his previous work too.

Check out the unique music video below, and if you’re interested, Chet Faker is currently touring Europe and North America!
