Prince Royce & The Score are our #Two4Tunesday songs of choice for this week; I can’t get enough of either of them, Prince Royce is bringing the bounce, whilst The Score are bringing the fun to the summer!
Prince Royce (aka Geoffrey Royce Rojas) is a singer-songwriter from The Bronx (just his collaborator on the song, Jenny “from the block” Lopez).
His most recent release, ‘Back It Up’ is taken from his fourth album (Double Vision) and collaborates with both Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull, both of whom are renowned for their Latin heritage, just as Prince Royce is. Until this album release, Royce has only released mixed Latin and English albums, but this sees him release his first only-English album.
The song has all the qualities of a good Latin-pop song – it’s got a couple of superstar features, some good R&B/Dancehall feels too it and it builds nicely to a climax at the end. The video is vibrant too and it’s great to see Royce and J-Lo being playfully flirty with each other. It’s just a really fun song to listen to!
‘Back It Up’ is available on iTunes right now – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/back-it-up-feat.-jennifer/id1012472699?i=1012473100

The Score consists of Eddie Anthony on vocals and guitar, and Edan Dover on keys and production. The duo have recently “scored” some recognition for this song after it was used in the summer Asda advert and was inside the Top 50 of the UK charts.
I love this song due to its upbeat, fun feel and gang vocals. It’s the kind of song you want to play loudly with friends in the car and the windows down; it’d make for a good road trip song!
‘Oh My Love’ can be downloaded now – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/oh-my-love-single/id959321808
