Gosh, I can’t believe these songs are over 13 years old now but I still enjoy them! Stacie Orrico released her first commercially successful, ‘Stuck’, in the UK back in 2003. It reached Number 9 in the UK charts and was quite different to the trends in music at the time with its pop rock edge married to her R&B style vocals. Interesting fact that the ‘boyfirend’ in her music video for the song, was played by her actor cousin, Trevor Wright.
I’ve also decided to include her second single from the album, Stacie Orrico, called ‘(There’s Gotta Be) More To Life’, purely because it’s such a belter! Again the blend of pop, rock and R&B is very prominent in this song and it scored Number 12 in the UK charts, but it was such a great, well-written pop song. It was also featured in the 2005 film, Robots with Robin Williams.
