Tegan and Sara are a sibling duo who have been active since 1995. They have traditionally been known for their indie/acoustic/folk sound, but this most recent single, ‘Boyfriend’, is the first to be released from their eighth studio album and sees them continue in their more recent direction of synthpop.

‘Boyfriend’ was written by the sisters, alongside Greg Kurstin (who has also collaborated with the likes of Adele, Pink, Lily Allen, Kelly Clarkson and Ellie Goulding). It’s got in-your-face synths, pounding drums and even some handclaps…it’s just straight-up, fun-filled pop, with a side salad of new wave…and it’s great!
