2017 marks the 10th anniversary of We The Kings‘ self-titled, debut album, from which ‘Check Yes Juliet’ is one of the most successful singles.

The song is everything you could want from a power pop/pop rock/pop punk track – punchy guitars, swirling synths, beltable vocals and an epically catchy chorus. The song undoubtedly exploded the band onto the pop rock scene and it’s great that we are now celebrating their 10th anniversary with them. The music video is a take on William Shakespeare’s classic tale, in which lead singer Travis plays Romeo, ‘tossing rocks’ at Juliet’s window. Juliet’s parents do not approve of her relationship with her “Romeo” and demand that she stay away from him. The video ends with Juliet sneaking out to see Travis perform at a house party.
