Probably one of the most musically diverse artists to come out of One Direction, Zayn is back with the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ collaboration with Sia with his latest single ‘Let Me’. Undoubtedly, this second single means his sophomore album must be on its way.
The track is beautifully simplistic with its easy-going R&B tempo and electric guitar sample, topped off with Zayn’s powerful falsetto vocals.
It’s a track that shows real maturity and promises an even more diverse set of songs for his second record. Lyrically, it’s about taking care of a partner for the rest of their lives.
The music video was directed by José Padilha and acts as a sequel to the video for ‘Dusk Till Dawn’. Featuring actor Steven Bauer (as a gangster kingpin) and model Sofia Jamora (who plays his girlfriend), Zayn‘s character, Roko tries to escape the kingpin’s henchmen, when it’s discovered that he has slept with the girlfriend, meaning orders on his life are given. It ends on a cliffhanger, suggesting that another video will continue the story where this one left off. It’s fantastic to see a modern artist taking the artistry of a music video seriously, to create something interesting and more complex than a simple performance video…especially across a few videos.

Irish singer-songwriter Talos is beginning to make big waves via his releases on Spotify and it’s clear to see why – his brand of atmospheric, melodic and even cinematic music is captivating to listen to.
‘Odyssey’ is a track that just seems to transcend to higher and higher places, the longer it runs. The music video, whilst possibly low in budget, is a work of art in itself – the resources he had have been utilised skilfully to craft something that is as equally bewitching to watch as the track is to listen to.
Undoubtedly, this artist will craft himself a lengthy career in music and go from strength to strength if this release is anything to go by – make sure you take the time to watch the video below. It’s stunning.

It’s a new year and we’re kicking off 2017 with this stunning track by UK duo, Aquilo.
The pair are currently gearing up for the release of their debut album, Silhouettes, on January 27th 2017 and judging by all of their releases so far, it promises to be incredible. They’ve been crafting their sound and songwriting skills for quite some time, so I’m expecting this to be a monster of an album!

Oh, and Happy New Year everyone! Let’s hope 2017 is an AWESOME year!
SHELLS is a fantastically intricate singer/songwriter who we have featured before (‘Jagwar‘).
She returned a couple of months ago with her latest track, ‘Jailbird’, which is every bit as beautiful as her previous release. Her vocals are delicate and sit upon the calmly euphoric instrumentals to craft a unique and enthralling soundscape. She is creating a sound unlike anything else around right now; a truly brilliant artist in the rising!
No official video has been released yet, but should anything arise, we’ll keep you informed.

American ska-punk band, Less Than Jake, released their song ‘The Rest of My Life’ around 10 years ago now.
I love this song as it came out during my late teen years and it reminds me of a lot of those times. The song is very different to a lot of their previous releases as it takes on a more mature and mellower sound to their usual up-beat, fast-paced, in-your-face ska punk vibes.
The song was taken from the band’s sixth studio album, In with the Out Crowd, and was actually co-written with Mark Hoppus from Blink-182.

Kiah Victoria is a new discovery for me! She is an incredibly talented and soulful singer who isn’t afraid to put some electro on it!
Her blend of electro-soul is refreshing, and it’s clear that some of her influences include Amy Winehouse and Etta James but that she is making her sound current.
‘I Ain’t Goin Nowhere’ is the singer’s most recent release and it’s truly captivating – I strongly recommend you check this song out, as well as some of her others.
No official video has been released and I can’t find a good quality version on YouTube, but make sure you check it out on Spotify, below 🙂

Foxes is an incredible singer from Southampton, who we have previously featured. She is renowned for her vocals on Zedd‘s 2012 single, ‘Clarity’ and having released a string of up-tempo, fun pop tracks.
This particular song, ‘Devil Side’, is taken from her second album, All I Need, released earlier this year. It’s brimming with passion, emotion and powerful vocals; it’s perfect for #MellowMonday.
Since no official video has been released, below is a video of an acoustic performance of the song. It’s beautiful!

Alicia Keys is undoubtedly a remarkable songstress and ‘Like You’ll Never See Me Again’ just goes to further prove this!
The single was taken from her third album, As I Am, back in 2007 and while the song is nearly 10 years old, it’s timeless due to its soulful nature.
