Maroon 5 are gearing up to release their sixth album in November this year (2017) and with a series of new singles since their fifth album, V, this is the latest to be released from their upcoming LP.

‘What Lovers Do’ features American singer SZA in addition to Adam Levine‘s trademark falsetto vocals, tied together with house-style synths and upbeat drums and handclaps. It’s got a great summery vibe to it and it comes right at the end of the season to give us one more mood boost before autumn sets in.

The singles the band have been releasing have had a real R&B tint to them and it sure excites me for their upcoming album.

*UPDATE* The music video has emerged online and as I suspected, it’s epic! Great visuals and superb use of CGI effects throughout, albeit in quite a cheesy way, but it’s certainly humorous and fun.

What are your thoughts on the band’s latest summery jam? Have you got a #FeelGoodFriday track you’d like to suggest to us? Please leave your thoughts or song recommendations in a comment or hit us up via social media.

Justin Bieber – ‘Friends’ (with BloodPop®)

Justin Bieber is back with his first new music since his 2015 album, Purpose, and his new single, ‘Friends’, (with BloodPop®) is one heck of a banger!

The track is everything you want from a summery, club banger and it is unashamedly so. The EDM-inspired tune has rocketed straight to Number 2 in the UK charts – just where it deserves to be!

No official music video has been released yet, but the rather cool lyric video can be seen below.

Rod Stewart & DNCE – ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’

Rod Stewart has re-recorded his 1978 hit, ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’ with Joe Jonas– fronted band, DNCE and it’s thrown it straight into the 21st Century, whilst still maintaining its funky feel.

It’s not changed too dramatically, which will keep Rod Stewart‘s fans happy and the addition of DNCE is sure to bring the track to a new audience – a great new rendition and a track I’m loving right now.

No official music video has been released as yet, but you can see the funky lyric video and live performance at 2017’s VMAs, below.

#FeelGoodFriday: Miley Cyrus – ‘Malibu’

Miley Cyrus is back with her brand new track, ‘Malibu’, believed to be taken from a new album and damn it’s good! I’ve got a lot of time for this ex-Disney pop princess – her voice is so unique and diverse and she just manages to produce incredible tune after incredible tune.

This track is like a breath of fresh air from the songstress – it’s verses are mild in nature yet somehow the track is elevated with a distinct happiness during the choruses with the funky guitar riffs and gently thumping rhythms.

The video is simplistic yet fun; arty yet honest – the imagery really suits the track!

What a great new direction/return to her earlier sound, from such a superb artist – welcome back Miley Cyrus!

#FeelGoodFriday: OneRepublic – ‘No Vacancy’

After releasing an open letter to fans, in which Ryan Tedder reveals that he nearly suffered a nervous breakdown and pulled the plug on the band, he informed fans that OneRepublic were changing!

From now on, the band are planning to release new music as and whenever they can – no album cycles, just new music! This is a refreshing outlook for a band and means that they won’t be bound by recording albums in the same way any more.

As such, the first single the band have released (after pretty much abandoning promotion of the uber diverse record, Oh My My) is their new track, ‘No Vacancy’ and my word is it a summer banger!

The track has hints at the current tropical house trend yet still retains that iconic OneRepublic sound – the track is an instant hit and just reinforces the golden nuggets they can produce!

No music video’s been released but the lyric video is below – check it out!

#ThrowbackThursday: Holly Valance – ‘Kiss Kiss’

Has it really been 15 years since Holly Valance released ‘Kiss Kiss’? Well at the start of May 2017, the song will be 15 years old and boy has time gone quickly for this track!

‘Kiss Kiss’ was Holly Valance‘s debut single after breaking away from her acting career in the Australian soap, Neighbours and it quickly rocketed to Number 1 in the UK charts. As a result of this, Valance had a string of hits and a couple of albums during the early 00s but since then, has been relatively quiet on the musical front, instead concentrating on being an ambassador for Disability Rights International.

What a great song and a brilliant blast from the past! Please share this post and re-live some memories 🙂

#Two4Tunesday: Jay Sean – ‘Do You Love Me’ & Cheat Codes – ‘No Promises’ featuring Demi Lovato

Jay Sean – ‘Do You Love Me’

Having released a single last year that didn’t perform as well as hoped in the USA and after being quiet for a little while since, Jay Sean is sure to burst back onto the scene with this potentially epic hit, ‘Do You Love Me’.

Following the current trends (similar to that of Justin Bieber etc.) the song uses a vocal sample as part of the hook amongst tropical house vibes and has a massive feel-good factor that makes this song too good to ignore.

No music video has been released online yet but when it does, we’ll update you.

Cheat Codes – ‘No Promises’ featuring Demi Lovato

Cheat Codes have teamed up with the ex-Disney singer and actress Demi Lovato to create this tropical house-fuelled pop track. It’s an incredibly catchy, fun song with a hugely strong summer vibe to it. It’s got all the makings of a summer smash hit for 2017!

Again, no music video has surfaced yet but we’ll of course keep you posted when one does.

#Two4Tunesday: Khalid – ‘American Teen’ & Alessia Cara – ‘How Far I’ll Go’

Khalid – ‘American Teen’

Khalid has just released his debut album, American Teens. The title-track from the album is also his most recent single and its got a very 80s movie feel to it with its twinkling, phasing space-like synths.

His voice is sorrowful and soulful at the same time – this track is not your standout pop track but is subtle in its approach. It’s a great song taken from a fantastic debut album. This looks set to be the start of a beautiful career.

Watch the music video below too – artistic and film-like in its own way.

Alessia Cara – ‘How Far I’ll Go’

Taken from Disney’s MoanaAlessia Cara‘s version of ‘How Far I’ll Go’  is a superb take on the song from the film. It’s not like the old R&B versions they so often used to roll over the credits of 90s Disney films – it’s very current with a tropical house vibe to it.

The song is great and still performing well on the Spotify charts, and whilst I thoroughly love the tune, it’s got a slightly disjointed feel to it as it appears to speed up and slow down. Nevertheless a great song, it is!

Bruno Mars – ’24K Magic’

Bruno Mars is back with a brand new track…and it seems he’s using a similar formula to his success with Mark Ronson on Uptown Funk; the track has a very similar vibe (particularly with its funky style and gang vocals) but you know what they say, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!’.

Whether the two tracks sound similar or not, this has enough about it to stand out and still be a darn good track! The video is pretty cool (and similar) too!

Well done Mr Mars – good tune!

Zak Abel – ‘Unstable’

Our next offering today, is by British-based singer and songwriter, Zak Abel (previously known for featuring on tracks by Gorgon City and Avicii, during 2014).

His latest single ‘Unstable’ is a very current, pop / electronic / tropical house offering that is sure to gain him even greater popularity with chart-lovers! It will undoubtedly feature on his debut album, Only When We’re Naked, is slated for release on March 1st 2017.

Unfortunately, no official video has been released for the song yet, but as always, we’ll keep you updated on this.

#FeelGoodFriday: Mark Ronson – ‘Uptown Funk’ featuring Bruno Mars

Mark Ronson Banner

This song has been a sensation all over the world and it’s still making it’s mark on the chart today (28 weeks it’s spent there to date!)

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars have been collaborating for a while (Ronson produced several of Mars‘ tracks) and this song blew up for the pair, scoring Ronson his first UK and US Number 1 single and album!

The song’s funk and disco vibe set it apart from a lot of other mainstream singles, with clear influences from bands such as Earth, Wind & Fire and Wham!

This song has deserved its success as it’s a quality produced, funk-loving, boogie-fuller marvel! The music video is the perfect visual companion to the song too! The pair must be revelling in their genius for this one!

I still can’t get enough of this song! Are you over this tune yet or still loving it? Please share this across your social media platforms. Share the love 🙂

#Two4Tunesday: Nick Jonas – ‘Jealous’ & Luke Friend – ‘Hole In My Heart’

What a manufactured, pop-filled ‘Two4Tunesday’ it is this week! Feast your ears peeps…

ZAEH_JONAS_SHOT03-27

You will know him mostly for his Disney-pop days as one of the three Jonas Brothers, who first started out with Busted covers of ‘What I Go To School For’ and ‘Year 3000’. However, since the group split, Nick Jonas has had some solo success. His most recent album, Nick Jonas, contains his current, Top 5 single, ‘Jealous’. The song itself is like a mixture of Pop and Motown with a major Lionel Richie vibe, coursing through its veins. A very catchy number – crank that volume!

Nick Jonas – ‘Jealous’

Luke-Friend-2351032

This next offering, you may well recognise from dear old X Factor! Most of what X Factor produces is a pile of rubbish, and I must confess that I wasn’t a great fan of Luke Friend on the show, however this single is well worth a listen. I like the rhythm of it, it’s semi-nursery rhyme sections and particularly love the gang vocals. You gotta give it to the guy; his husky vocals have a unique quality too!

Luke Friend – ‘Hole In My Heart’
