Brighton Pride is fast approaching and to celebrate, we have created our first ever, Brighton Pride Weekenderplaylist dedicated to one of the city’s biggest annual events to promote equality and diversity with the aim to eliminate discrimination against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
This playlist has been lovingly crafted to include a variety of tracks, by the artists performing at Brighton Pride 2018, as well as some other great anthems!
If you already own the songs and want the custom artwork, please feel free to copy/download it below:
Janelle Monáe has just released her third album, Dirty Computer, and ‘Pynk’ is one of my favourite singles from the record. It’s a collaboration with Canadian art pop artist, Grimes and is a song all about female empowerment, self-love…and there are certainly strong references to female genitalia! This can be seen from the music video too (see below).
The track actually interpolates parts of Aerosmith‘s ‘Pink’, and as such, are credited as writers of the song.
This is a strong song to kickstart your Tuesday, so turn it up loud and enjoy!
We’ve had a blast and been so proud to have hit the milestone of our first birthday and coming up next month, should be more interviews and reviews (in particular, Patent Pending…again! But this time, in person; which guarantees to be a massive laugh!) as well as our usual posts to bring you music for each of our themed days.
We hope that you have enjoyed this month’s songs and you can find both the Spotify and YouTube playlists below!
As always, please keep sharing our posts and remember to share your song choices with us by commenting on our posts or talking to us on Twitter and Facebook.

Muzik Speaks is 1 year old this week and to celebrate this milestone, we’re giving you a themed playlist, for each day this week. The playlist will contain all of the songs we’ve featured on our blog during the past year, all themed around the corresponding day.
Today, it’s #Two4Tunesday and our playlist includes:
Halsey (aka Ashley Nicolette Frangipane) has just released the third single from her album Badlands, ‘Colors’. Her voice sits beautifully atop the instrumentation and it has an air of Taylor Swift about it, but with a little more heart to it.
The song is a bit of an electronic, musical masterpiece and seems fitting to be turned into a music video, and she has done just that – made a visual piece of art to accompany the song and although the relation to the song itself doesn’t seem evident, it doesn’t need to; it’s perfect the way it is! It’s a cryptic video with clues to the ending given throughout, so watch carefully!
