OneRepublic – ‘Wherever I Go’

Last week, OneRepublic made a triumphant return with their new single, ‘Wherever I Go’.

The single marks the upcoming release of their fourth album and sees the band return with their trademark indie-pop sound.

It’s the first new song they’ve released since the mammoth success of their third album, Native. It’s got a great, catchy chorus and a really fantastic ascension as the song progresses. It’s definitely left me excited about their upcoming record!

Reggie ‘N’ Bollie – ‘New Girl’

Reggie ‘N’ Bollie – what a pair! I can’t believe I’m featuring them, as I wasn’t really a fan when the duo were on X Factor, however this song is so damn catchy and uplifting, I can’t help but love it!

Reggie ‘n’ Bollie (formerly known as Menn on Poinnt) are a duo from Ghana, made up of Reggie Zippy and Bollie Babeface.

The pair did really well on the 12th series of X Factor, coming in second place and have subsequently signed to Syco, releasing their debut single, last week.

No official video has been released as of yet, but we’ll keep you updated on when one is released.

KYKO (aka Scott Verrill) is a 19-year-old, London based singer-songwriter who I am pretty sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of over the coming months!

His sound is fresh, exciting and unique – he’s combined his fantastic songwriting abilities with his great production ideas to create his own interesting blend of indie-pop.

The video has recently been released too and is simplistic yet effective – check it out below.

#FeelGoodFriday: OneRepublic – ‘Good Life’, ‘Feel Again’ & ‘I Lived’

We have featured OneRepublic before, with their remarkable song, ‘Can’t Stop‘ but today I have chosen 3 of their most uplifting songs to feature. The band, as a whole, usually write upbeat songs or ones with positive messages, and these songs are incredible.

‘Good Life‘ is taken from their second album, Waking Up and its almost satirical lyrics and light-hearted instrumentation make for a wonderful song.

‘Feel Again’ is a unique song as the beat was inspired by the heartbeats of children and their work with Save The Children on their ‘Every Beat Matters’ campaign. It’s such a fun song and the chorus just hooks you right in.

Ryan Tedder penned this track for his four-year-old son, yet lyrically I think this song can speak to everyone around the world. Its all about saying that you’ve lived your life to the fullest and no matter what happens along the way, you can say you did it! My favourite lyric is; “With every broken bone, I swear I lived.” The video is amazing too; featuring a 15-year-old fan of the band (Bryan Warneck) living with cystic fibrosis and even though he faces this each and every day, he still makes the most of his life; it’s such a powerful message.

OneRepublic have gone from strength to strength over the years and their most recent album, Native, is probably their strongest album to date (a very difficult thing to achieve!)

This song is an album track and hasn’t been released as a single, but my word its a powerful song – it may not be the calmest of songs when it gets into it, but it’s a beautifully written song. I hope you like it as much as I do.
