Buenos Dias ‘Speakerz’!

Yes, it’s that time again; June’s monthly playlist has arrived! We’re bringing you the whole month’s featured songs all in one playlist; both on YouTube and Spotify!

Muzik Speaks Logo - Pride

Muzik Speaks has just completed its 4th month and it’s popularity is still growing, so thank you to each and every one of our viewers and followers!

This month, we’ve mellowed your Monday’s with Jesse Boykins III, Grimes and Sigma, brought you new music from Owl City, Alesha Dixon, Years & Years and Blonde and introduced some new and unusual tracks from SBTRKT, Jack ÜOnly Real and The Notionaries.

We really hope that you enjoy the month’s songs, all taken from our featured posts throughout June 2015 – As usual, our apologies if some of the tracks are missing from the Spotify playlist – some may not have been released yet and some may have been removed from Spotify by the artist/band.

Note: You can view the whole YouTube playlist by using the dropdown menu at the top corner of the video, or skip a song using the ‘next’ button.

NEXT MONTH:

#Two4Tunesday: Little Mix – ‘Black Magic’ & Passion Pit – ‘Lifted Up (1985)’

For #Two4Tunesday this week, we’re bringing you new music from Little Mix and Passion Pit!

Little Mix Banner

Little Mix rose to public attention in the 8th series of The X Factor in the UK, when the four auditioned separately. They failed the bootcamp round as soloists, but were offered to be put through to the next round, as a group. They went on to win that series of The X Factor and were the first ever group to win the series.

The group have since gone on to release two successful albums and are now gearing up to release a third. On top of that, the group helped to co-write Britney Spears’ latest hit, ‘Pretty Girls’ and back in 2013, Perrie Edwards, from the group is engaged to Zayn Malik (former member of The X Factor‘s One Direction).

This single, ‘Black Magic’, is the first single to be taken from their as-yet-untitled, third album and sees the group adopt a slightly different sound to their previous releases.

‘Black Magic’ is due out on 10th July 2015 and is available to pre-order on iTunes now – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/black-magic-single/id994616224

Passion Pit Banner

For our next track we have the latest single from Passion Pit‘Lifted Up (1985)’. Passion Pit consists of lead vocalist Michael Angelakos and a series of live members but none of these are permanent; see Passion Pit is the brainchild of the singer who recorded an EP as a belated Valentine’s Day gift to his then girlfriend, which then gained public attention and took off from there.

This particular song is taken from the band’s third album, Kindred and has a fantastically captivating Indie-Pop vibe; it’s a stunning song.

Passion Pit recently teamed up with Madeon for a banging’ electronica track too! (Check out our post by clicking on Madeon)

‘Lifted Up (1985)’ can be bought from iTunes now – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/lifted-up-1985/id965405199?i=965405203

That was this week’s #Two4Tunesday! Please share this on your social media accounts and tell us what your two favourite tracks are right now. Thanks for the ongoing support!

#Playlist: March 2015

So, rather like a ‘Now That’s What I Call Music’ compilation, I thought it might be cool to do a YouTube and Spotify playlist of the month’s songs from now on, instead of each week’s playlist on a Sunday, that way you get the whole month’s songs to look forward to at the end of the month. What do you think?

I can’t believe this blog has been live for a month already! You’ve had tracks from Dappy, Jess Glynne, Justin Timberlake, All Saints and more.

I hope you enjoy these songs (sorry some are missing from the Spotify playlist – some haven’t been released yet and some haven’t been allowed on Spotify by the artist). It’s a little look back at March 2015.

Note: You can view the whole YouTube playlist by using the dropdown menu at the top corner of the video, or skip a song using the ‘next’ button.

#FeelGoodFriday: Madeon – ‘Pay No Mind’ featuring Passion Pit

Madeon Banner

Madeon (aka Hugo Pierre Leclercq) is a French music producer; a very young, talented one at that! His debut EP (The City) was released back in 2012 (when he was 17!), and this week sees the release of his debut album, Adventure, at the remarkable age of 20!

This song, Pay No Mind, was released this week and features the American indietronica band, Passion Pit – the accompanying music video is the second in a trilogy. The song itself is a fantastic fusion of indie, electronica and disco. It’s superbly uplifting and majorly reminds me of Daft Punk in their Discovery era (similar to their songs Digital Love and Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger) – such an incredible song, so much love for it!!!

It’s such an amazing day today and this song is making it all the better! What song’s floating your Friday boat today? Share by replying below and RT the link to this page 🙂
