Hey Muzik Speakerz!

March 2016 has been another great month and saw us turn 1 year old!

We did an interview with Lucy Spraggan and a review of her show, when she performed in Brighton and did a series of special birthday playlists for each themed day; #MellowMonday#Two4Tunesday#WildCardWednesday#ThrowbackThursday and #FeelGoodFriday.

We’ve had a blast and been so proud to have hit the milestone of our first birthday and coming up next month, should be more interviews and reviews (in particular, Patent Pending…again! But this time, in person; which guarantees to be a massive laugh!) as well as our usual posts to bring you music for each of our themed days.

We hope that you have enjoyed this month’s songs and you can find both the Spotify and YouTube playlists below!

As always, please keep sharing our posts and remember to share your song choices with us by commenting on our posts or talking to us on Twitter and Facebook.

Joel Adams is an Australian singer-songwriter who I just so happened to discover on Spotify! He actually performed a cover of Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney‘s ‘The Girl Is Mine’ on X Factor Australia under the name Joel Goncalves.

Since appearing on the show, the singer has released his debut single, ‘Please Don’t Go’, which recently charted in the Canadian Hot 100!

I really like this song as it has something soulful about it and considering he’s only 19 years old, the guys got talent! The video for this song is pretty cool too – I like the effects used – it’s mesmerising!

Have you heard of Joel Adams before? Do you like this song? What would your #MellowMonday choice be? Please share this on your social media and leave us your song choice for the day too!

#Playlist: April 2015

Hey-hey campers!

This month’s compilation is a corker! As with last month, we’re bringing you both a YouTube and Spotify playlist of all of this month’s featured songs!

Muzik Speaks has now been live for 2 whole months and it’s growing fast! We’ve got a brand new writer, Max Paillard, who so far, has brought you some amazing Wild-Card Wednesday tunes and I’m personally looking forward to seeing what he brings next!

This month has brought you some fantastic tracks from the likes of; Lucy Spraggan, Macklemore, Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas as well as songs from independent bands, like TEAM, New City Kings and The Barr Brothers and finally we’ve thrown-back your Thursdays with Bomfunk MCs, Fragma, Owl City and of course, the late Lil’ Chris.

We hope you enjoy these songs from April 2015, all over again, in one place – once again, sorry some of the tracks are missing from the Spotify playlist – some haven’t been released yet and some have been removed from Spotify by the artist/band.

Note: You can view the whole YouTube playlist by using the dropdown menu at the top corner of the video, or skip a song using the ‘next’ button.

#FeelGoodFriday: Melanie Fiona – ‘Please Don’t Go (Cry Baby)’

Melanie Fiona Banner

This song defines ‘feel-good’ for me! Whenever I’m down, this is the song I play to pick myself up again! It’s catchy, it’s upbeat, it’s reminiscent of Motown with a clear soul edge to it – it’s just so HAPPY!

Melanie Fiona is from Canada and has worked with the likes of Drake; she was previously signed to Universal Motown Records but now resides with Universal Republic Records and has even received a Grammy Nomination for ‘Best Female R&B Vocal Performance’, for her single ‘It Kills Me’.

This song was never released as a single, but was instead an album track from her debut album, ‘The Bridge’. I really don’t know what more I can say about this; it’s just AWESOME!
