#Two4Tunesday: Ed Sheeran – ‘Castle On The Hill’ & Julia Michaels – ‘Issues’

Ed Sheeran – ‘Castle On The Hill’

Now I’ve never been a huge fan of Ed Sheeran, but even I can’t deny his triumphant return and ‘Castle On The Hill’ is the first song of his that’s made me take note of him.

The sheer passion in his voice in the chorus of this song is gripping and really captivated my attention. Although this song is currently Number 2 in the UK and his other single (‘Shape Of You’) is at Number 1, I think this one is quietly addictive and could well make it to the Number 1 spot in time.

No official video has been released but for now, check out the lyric video below.

‘Castle On The Hill’ is on iTunes for downloading now! – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/castle-on-the-hill/id1191555115?i=1191557930

Julia Michaels – ‘Issues’

Julia Michaels has so far been known for writing huge hits such as Hailee Steinfeld‘s Love MyselfJustin Bieber‘s SorryBritney Spears‘ Slumber Party, and even the track ‘Dive’ from Ed Sheeran‘s upcoming album.

However, Julia Michaels has now taken the first steps into the world as an artist in her own right and she’s making huge waves already. Her debut single, ‘Issues’ is a real hard-hitter with some fantastic vocal melodies and lyrical acrobatics, just the way the lyrics play around the instrumentation is brilliant; it really is a work of songwriting art. She stated, “It was the first time I’d written a song that sounded so much like myself that I couldn’t picture anyone else singing it.”

Similarly to ‘Castle On The Hill’, no video has emerged yet but in the meantime, check out the audio video below.

#Two4Tunesday: Britney Spears – ‘Slumber Party’ featuring Tinashe & JP Cooper – ‘September Song’

Britney Spears – ‘Slumber Party’ featuring Tinashe

I have always been a massive fan of Britney Spears, since her first single ‘…Baby One More Time’ and she has consistently proven that she can adapt to current trends or set new ones, with each new album!

Ever since the release of her most recent album, Glory, this particular track stood out to me! It is funky, fresh and fun – the beat is sick and it’s just something different. The explicit lyrical content seems to add the fun of it; explicit lyrics from Britney just seems to have a bit more fun to it! The video is pretty saucy too…

Well done Ms Spears; you are remarkable!

‘Slumber Party’ is on iTunes for downloading now! – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/slumber-party-feat.-tinashe/id1176203944?i=1176204390

JP Cooper – ‘September Song’

I don’t know masses about JP Cooper, but what I do know is that he was the voice of Jonas Blue‘s ‘Perfect Strangers’ and that he has since been experiencing a lot of success as a solo singer, with credits from fellow male singers Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes.

This song is deeply rooted within the tropical house genre, but it is soulful, catchy and very current. I’m extremely excited to hear more from this talented songwriter!

No official video has been released, but we’ll keep you updated, as always.

#MellowMonday: Snakehips – ‘All My Friends’ featuring Tinashe & Chance The Rapper

Snakehips are a British duo, consisting of Oliver Lee Dickinson and James Carter. The pair have been making House songs since 2012 and made a name for themselves by remixing the likes of The Weeknd.

It was late in 2015 that the duo released the single, ‘All My Friends’ featuring Tinashe and Chance The Rapper.

The song is heavily house influenced and has similar vibes to Justin Bieber‘s new sound, who has previously worked with Chance The Rapper. The video is quite good too – check it out below.

Have a good week and please share this on your social media accounts 🙂

Good Charlotte – ‘Makeshift Love’

#WelcomeBackGC – it’s been trending all over Twitter, because the band are back with a brand new single after a 4-year hiatus!

Joel & Benji Madden, Paul Thomas, Billy Martin and Dean Butterworth have just released their newest single, ‘Makeshift Love’, and it sees a welcome return to the sound of the band’s pop punk/punk rock glory days!

These guys have come from nothing and truly earned their successes! They’ve come so far and developed their sound constantly, over the years. We re:Discovered them in a post earlier this year and are so excited about their return!

No details of an album or video for the single have surfaced yet, but a lyric video has been published online recently. We’ll keep you updated on any album news, as soon as we hear!

‘Makeshift Love’ is on iTunes for the downloading now! – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/makeshift-love-single/id1055037957

Tinashe – ‘Player’ featuring Chris Brown

Tinashe is a new artist to me; I am yet to explore more of her music, however this song was recommended to me on YouTube and I have to say, the video is incredible – the dancing is insane!

I am a fan of Chris Brown and his vocals lend themselves perfectly to this up-tempo pop/R&B track, but Tinashe has quite a sweet voice to contrast Chris Brown’s.

‘Player’ is the first single off her upcoming second album, Joyride.

Grab a copy of ‘Player’ from iTunes now! – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/player-feat.-chris-brown/id1044339226?i=1044339230

I hope you have an excellent day and that you get some enjoyment from these two remarkable songs! What songs would you choose for this #Two4Tunesday? Please leave a comment below or Tweet/Facebook us.
