#FeelGoodFriday: Superfruit – ‘Bad 4 Us’

SUP3RFRUIT (Superfruit) started out as a web show, hosted on YouTube by Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi (originally known for their work in Pentatonix) but recently, the pair debuted their first track as a duo, ‘Bad 4 Us’, and it. Is. AWESOME!

The song is catchy and fun and it truly is the perfect debut track for the duo’s side project. After years of yearning from fans, it looks like the pair might finally be releasing a side project of music as the comment on the video states, ‘official music coming in 2017!’ Hopefully it won’t be long until more emerges from them, as this song is just awesome.

The music video is just incredible; it’s fun, interesting, funny and nostalgic of 90s video games…and openly makes reference to the pair’s sexuality. The duo’s heads work amazingly on the cartoon bodies and it’s been superbly animated.

Unfortunately, the song is currently not available to listen to on Spotify or for purchase via iTunes, so for now, you’ll just have to watch/listen to the music video below.

What are your thoughts of this incredibly catchy pop tune? Got your own #FeelGoodFriday track to recommend to us? Please leave your thoughts or song suggestions in a comment or via our social media accounts.

#FeelGoodFriday: Marianas Trench – ‘Who Do You Love’

Canadian pop-rock band, Marianas Trench are beginning to make big waves over here, in the UK.

With a massive fanbase in their home-country (Canada), frontman Josh Ramsay having received a Grammy nomination in 2013 for co-writing and producing Carly Rae Jepsen‘s ‘Call Me Maybe’ and following a small sold out tour last summer, the band have announced a full UK tour (starting in May 2017) and new UK single, ‘Who Do You Love’. The song is impeccably produced and the vocal harmonies at the beginning of the track are just immense. It’s a truly transcendent track that was just beginning to be a #FeelGoodFriday song, the moment I heard it.

I’m hoping to try and catch the band at the Brighton date of their upcoming tour – hopefully see some of you guys there 🙂

For the new UK single ‘Who Do You Love’, the band decided against making a traditional music video, instead choosing to use the funds to make a difference and inspire others to go out and do some good. Some of the situations included sharing funds with individuals to more elaborate, pay-it-forward-style scenarios that benefit groups of people. The scenarios themselves were pre-arranged but the reactions weren’t, leading to honest, authentic and heart-warming reactions from everyone involved. Make sure you watch the video below.

What are your thoughts of this superb track? Have you already heard of the band? Would you like to hear more from them? Please leave your thoughts in a comment or hit us up via our social media accounts.

Have a great weekend everyone!

#Review: Everywhere – Fiction Act (EP)

Everywhere have released one heck of an EP! Check out our review…

Everywhere are a London-based four-piece band who have already received a lot of attention for their lead single, Some Other Dude, which has received over 1 millions plays on Spotify and a feature on BBC Introducing London.

Everywhere - Fiction Act.jpg

The opening track, ‘Shades At Night’, has all the makings of a massive anthem and sure kicks off the EP with a bang. It’s a song that is begging to be chanted along to, by any audience and would sit perfectly inside a massive stadium. It’s a monster of a song and very reminiscent of something that The KillersThe 1975 or maybe even Take That would produce, but it definitely still has their own unique mark on it!

‘Heroine’ is a twisted tale of love that has beautiful vocal harmonies and gang vocals that can’t help but draw you in. ‘Some Other Dude’ has some seriously cool effects on the guitars and this song is itching to be danced to; it’s got some major funk to it! The EP closes with ‘Let It Go’, which although a much mellower offering, is just as captivating as the other songs. The synth sounds throughout the EP are so on point and current and here they just add to the epic, euphoria that builds throughout the track.

The production of this EP is superb too – it’s got a cool, edgy, funky pop sound that enhances the songs perfectly. This is thanks, in part, to American producer, Mark Needham, who’s worked with the likes of The KillersWalk The MoonThe 1975Imagine Dragons and P!nk.

This whole EP has been crammed full of top-notch production, quality song-writing and fantastic, catchy melodies – it’d be quite easy to get caught out busting a move or two or belting along to it in your car or just about anywhere it’s played. I honestly love this EP and the band too! One heck of an EP!

I’m sure these guys are going to be huge and if you haven’t heard of them already, be sure to check out this incredible EP…I’m just sad there aren’t more tracks! Bring on the album!

#WildCardWednesday: Kehlani – ‘CRZY’

Kehlani is an American singer-songwriter who’s sound sits somewhere between R&B, Hip Hop and Neo-Soul but still has a catchy pop edge to it.

She initially found fame as a member of the teen pop group, Poplyfe, which was a finalist on America’s Got Talent.

This song is the first single to be taken from her upcoming debut album, SweetSexySavage and was produced by female R&B/Pop duo Novawav.

The message behind the song is clear and the team wanted to “create an unapologetic statement embracing the challenges and double standards that come with being a woman.” The video for the track is amazing too – check it out below!

This song has definitely made me take note of her and I’m thoroughly excited for her debut album, but what are your thoughts? Have you got another favourite song of hers? Please leave your thoughts of own, similar #WildCardWednesday tracks in a comment below or chat to us via our social media.

Louis Tomlinson – ‘Just Hold On’ featuring Steve Aoki

Since breaking away from One Direction for a while, Louis Tomlinson has just released his first solo track, ‘Just Hold On’ featuring massive house producer Steve Aoki.

The track was first performed live at this year’s X Factor final, just days after his mum passed away and what an emotional performance it was! It saw Louis really take flight as a solo performer with a hugely successful reception from fans. It’s a really fantastic song – check it out!

No official video has emerged yet, but I’m sure something will; we’ll keep you posted.

M.O – ‘Not In Love’ featuring Kent Jones

After the hugely successful Who Do You Think OfM.O are back with a new song, ‘Not In Love’ featuring Kent Jones.

The song sees the trio continue in a similar vein of R&B/Pop – the song is very current but somehow remains unique. It’s got some serious reggae vibes to it, topped off with Kent Jones‘ rap verse. Turn this one up!

Again, there’s no official video yet, but when something emerges, we’ll let you know,

#MellowMonday: A R I Z O N A – ‘Oceans Away’

We’ve featured the American trio, A R I Z O N A before and damn it, we’re going to do it again! ‘Oceans Away’ is the most recent track to be released by the songwriter/producers and it’s as encapsulating as all of their other releases.

I love the sound of this track, and indeed the band, because they fuse the softer side of rock with the more contemporary sounds of pop, topped off with almost house-like beats. It’s virtually genre-less but it doesn’t matter; it’s damn catchy and their sound fills the listener with intrigue and admiration.

I know that the band are currently hard at work on their debut album, but in my opinion, it cannot come quick enough!

No video has been made as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted on this!

What are your thoughts of this band? What’s your favourite song they’ve done? Please let us know your thoughts or share your own #MellowMonday track in a comment below or via our social media, using the hashtag.

#WildCardWednesday: Tre Coast – ‘Stuck In Between’

Tre Coast has recently come to my attention with this incredible, tropical house-style anthem!

The song is very current but has something unique about it, in the form of Tre’s voice. For those who haven’t heard of him yet, I’m sure you soon will – he’s picking up an impressive online following and whilst he’s previously been known for his rapping, this song sees him taking on a more soulful, singing vibe.

No official video has emerged for this track yet and it’s not on Spotify or iTunes, but I couldn’t let this song go unshared! Please check out the SoundCloud player below and please share the link to this post! We’ll keep you updated if any video is released too!

What are your thoughts of this unsigned artists sound? Are you intrigued to hear more? Please share your thoughts or own #WildCardWednesday tracks below or via our social media accounts.

#Two4Tunesday: MUNA – ‘I Know A Place’ & XYLØ – ‘Get Closer’

MUNA – ‘I Know A Place’

I have been an avid MUNA fan for some time now, but their recent release of ‘I Know A Place’, has just further cemented my love for the trio!

It is incredibly anthemic and features a chanting chorus of “I know a place, Where everyone’s gonna lay down their weapons,” which is guaranteed to have everyone singing along.

It is firmly rooted around the LGBTQ community and lets everyone know that safe places can exist for those within the community. It’s one hell of a catchy tune with an uplifting message that just begs to be replayed over and over again; I certainly have been!

No video has surfaced yet, but I’ll keep you updated if/when one does!

XYLØ – ‘Get Closer’

In contrast to MUNA‘s ‘I Know A Place’, is the sibling duo, XYLØ‘s ‘Get Closer’, which looks at how relationships today are often shrouded with distractions in the form of social media, constant in-your-face advertisement and immediate access to information; all of which are detracting from face-to-face interaction and relationships and causing people to become more distant from the ones they were once inseparable from. The message is pretty dark.

The video helps to captivate these distractions in the form of the neon lights, lasers and strobe lights and depicts the song perfectly. Check it out below!
